THE NEWPOINT CHURCH STORY

Growing up in Ponca City, Kyle and Cheyenne developed a deep love for this community and a desire to reach people who were far from God. Even as teenagers growing in their faith in Christ, they sensed that God had special plans for this city. After high school, they both moved away for a time to pursue their education.

In 2010, God brought Kyle and Cheyenne back to Ponca City to serve as Ministers to Students at the church they grew up in. Over several years of ministry, God used them to impact the lives of hundreds of Ponca City teenagers. The more they saw students coming to the Lord, the more they realized that many families in the community were still far from God. In fact, they saw an entire community full of unchurched families who were not effectively being reached through traditional church methods.

This burden weighed heavily on Kyle and Cheyenne. They began to pray about how God could use them to reach their city on a larger scale. It was during this season that God clearly gave them a vision to plant a new kind of church—one that would reach the unreached in Ponca City and the surrounding area.

NewPoint Church began as a group of 11 like-minded followers of Jesus who gathered with Kyle and Cheyenne in late 2014 to pray and prepare for the launch of a new church in Ponca City. Over the next several months, God brought several others to join them. On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, NewPoint Church officially launched its first worship service with 219 people in attendance!

Today, hundreds of lives have been impacted through the ministry of NewPoint Church. The church now averages over 800 people in weekly attendance across four Sunday worship services. With an average year-over-year growth rate of more than 25%, NewPoint continues to expand its reach. In 2025, the church celebrated a record 122 new believers through baptism.
