Building Church Jobs

Building Church is a non-denominational church in Huntsville, Alabama, that is Spirit-led and committed to being a life-giving community. Known as BC, we were church plant #45 through ARC. Our story began in 2007 when our founding pastors, David and Stephanie Pursiful, launched the church in a local movie theater. Shortly after, we moved to the Malco theater and remained a portable church for ten years.

In 2015, God opened the door for us to purchase land and begin building our current worship space. In April 2016, we moved from the theater to our permanent worship center, becoming a church with contemporary worship and a permanent home for ministry and growth as a church for spiritual growth.

In February 2017, Pastors David and Stephanie transitioned leadership to Pastors Spencer and Ellen Beach, who moved from Bentonville, Arkansas, where they had served as Executive Pastors. Since then, Building Church has continued to grow—not only in attendance but also in church leadership development and spiritual impact.

The years 2018 and 2019 were marked by significant growth and a strengthening of our leadership team. In March 2020, like many others, we transitioned to online church services in Huntsville and remained virtual until Father’s Day in June 2020. During that time, we stayed connected through live streaming church services, continuing to minister to our community even from a distance.

When we reopened, we began with two services and around 200 people in attendance—down from the 750 we had in 2019—but we were grateful to gather again. Since then, we’ve continued moving forward and now welcome between 500 and 600 people each Sunday.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to expand into other areas through additional campuses, conferences, and community events. Our heart is to be a church for young families, a church for new believers, and a church for college students in Huntsville—meeting people where they are and helping them become who God has created them to be.
