THE FAITH PROMISE CHURCH STORY

On February 5th, 1995, a movement called Faith Promise Church began in a hotel
ballroom in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The gathering of 350 people with a great
burden met to worship and pray for a movement that would change people’s
eternities, not only in Tennessee but worldwide. Faith Promise met in multiple other
locations in the early years, including the mall in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
In a unanimous vote, the people of Faith Promise called Dr. Chris Stephens to be
their first Senior Pastor and to shepherd the vision of this great movement of God.
After accepting the call, Dr. Chris Stephens challenged Promisors to, “Put on your
running shoes.” During his first weekend as Pastor, the entire church answered his
challenge by showing up in their running shoes ready to run!
After deciding not to build on land previously purchased, the vision to be a regional
church led Faith Promise to buy 33 acres in the Hardin Valley area of Knoxville. They
have settled on a mountain overlooking a beautiful and thriving area of West
Knoxville, establishing the Pellissippi campus which still serves as the broadcast
campus. The Pellissippi campus continues to flourish in ministry and impact.

JOB SUMMARY

Faith Promise is looking for a full-time Student Pastor who is
passionate about joining a team that is going to Win the World.
This role will report to the Pellissippi Campus Pastor and will
be responsible for leading and growing the Student Ministry. It
will require an individual to possess and develop exceptional
leadership, team building, teaching, and management skills.

• Strong leader with previous experience leading a team
• Experienced in leading a large student ministry (100 students or
  more)
• Committed to staying in student ministry and not trying to use
  this position as a stepping stone
• Able to provide structure of care for volunteers and families

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the student ministry at the Pellissippi Campus
• Equip, lead, and mentor the student staff at the Pellissippi Campus
• Grow student ministry
• Teach during Wednesday services
• Commit to and maintain a personal spiritual growth plan
• Monitor and ensure the spiritual growth of the Pellissippi student ministry
• Teach at the Pellissippi student services, alongside the rest of Pellissippi Student Staff
• Coordinate Winning Team members and ensure all tasks associated with weekly
  student services and events are accomplished
• Maintain ongoing and strategic community presence through Winning Teams, including
  local chapel services, sporting events, schools, FCA, etc
• Coordinate and oversee student events at the Pellissippi campus, such as: Rise Up,
  leadership retreats, and Movement
• Grow student ministry small groups
• Serve on weekend services
• Build and maintain the spiritual integrity of small groups by tracking and ensuring
  groups are growing and birthing when necessary
• Manage processes to assimilate new group leaders and ensure accountability of all
  group leaders through the coaching structure.
• Maintain, train, and grow student ministry coaches
• Maintain and grow key volunteers of weekly services and events
• Serve as a Pastor on the staff of Faith Promise Church and perform any duties as
  required by the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, or Central Student Pastor
