THE EXPANSION CHURCH STORY

At Expansion Church, their mission is to point a broken world to a loving God. It is a vibrant and growing community that primarily reaches young families between the ages of 25 and 55. In just four short years, the church has expanded from an average weekly attendance of 70 people to over 450.

Pastor Rock and his wife, Sheterica, were on staff at Christ Fellowship, one of the largest churches in the country, when they felt God’s call in 2019 to step out in faith and plant a new church. With support from Christ Fellowship and in partnership with ARC (The Association of Related Churches), Expansion Church officially launched on January 24, 2021, as ARC Church Plant number 1016.

The church began as a portable congregation, initially meeting on Saturdays at a local church, the only organization willing to lease space during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Eight months later, they transitioned to Sunday morning services at a local high school, though that arrangement lasted only six weeks. After an intensive search, Expansion Church secured its current 6,000-square-foot facility, which has since been fully remodeled and intentionally designed to meet the church’s growing needs.

With a significant influx of people relocating to the state, and especially to the city, Expansion Church anticipates continued growth. The church currently welcomes an average of 10–20 first-time guests each weekend and is actively searching for its next facility, aiming for a space of 20,000 square feet or more.

At present, the church employs two full-time staff members and several part-time staff, with plans to add two more full-time positions before the end of 2025 to support its ongoing expansion.

JOB SUMMARY

The Next Gen Pastor or Director will lead and grow our Student and Young Adults Ministries. This leader will play a vital role in shaping the spiritual lives of middle and high school students, as well as young adults, by creating engaging, Christ-centered environments where they can belong, grow, and thrive.

In addition to overseeing weekly gatherings and discipleship efforts, this role will also spearhead the development of a robust Student Internship Program designed to equip the next generation of ministry leaders through hands-on training and mentorship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate God’s Word with clarity, power, and relevance each week to students (6th–12th grade)
• Communicate God’s Word with clarity, power, and relevance each week to young adults (ages 18–29)
• Build and develop volunteer leaders and teams to support Student, Young Adult, and Internship Ministries
• Develop a Summer Internship Program for high school and college students, with a long-term goal of establishing a year-long internship for recent graduates
• Serve in the Sunday Host rotation as needed
• Preach during Sunday services three to four times per year
