THE ALIVE CHURCH STORY

In 2007, Pastors Ken and Tabatha Claytor felt the call of God to move to Gainesville from Washington D.C. to plant a church. Not knowing anyone in the city, they packed up their family and left friends and loved ones for what has turned out to be the journey of a lifetime!

Starting with five people in their living room, they grew to meet weekly at the Phillips Performing Arts Center, located on the University of Florida’s campus. A few years later, God began to birth a new vision in Pastor Ken’s heart—one that would pioneer a move of God to bring life into dead places. This vision would bring people together regardless of race, ethnicity, or economic status. It would cross racial lines, challenge boundaries in Christ, and commission the church to go after those who are far from God.

In 2014, Alive Church was launched and now, every Sunday—hundreds of people are reached throughout the Orlando and Gainesville campuses.

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Campus Pastor will oversee the leadership development process at Alive Church and support the Campus Pastor in daily operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership Development:

• Ensure individuals at the campus are taking steps to grow and develop in leadership.
• Follow up with ALI students to ensure a positive and meaningful experience.
• Oversee the recruitment of new leaders into the leadership pipeline.

Team Building:

• Invest in and develop the leadership of the Dream Team and Alive Groups.
• Continuously recruit volunteers for ministry teams.
• Provide ongoing support and development for ministry team leaders.

Next Steps Process:

• Build and oversee Alive Groups.
• Guide individuals through the Growth Track program.
• Develop and manage the First-Time Guest Connections process.

Support for the Campus Pastor:

• Assist the Campus Pastor with day-to-day responsibilities.
• Help oversee the church staff and support operational effectiveness.

Personal Growth and Development:

• Engage in continued learning through spiritual and leadership materials.
• Develop in recruitment and leadership from experienced leaders in the field.
• Dedicate time to personal and creative development.
