THE PURPOSE CHURCH STORY
In 2014, God began impressing upon the hearts of Pastors Landon and Kelly Kyker to begin a new life-giving church. They started dreaming of planting a church that would lead people to live life on purpose for Jesus. Landon and Kelly knew they could not take on this endeavor alone. They wholeheartedly believed that life and ministry were meant to be done with others, and that God alone would build His church.
In June 2014, The Purpose Church began its launch process in partnership with ARC (The Association of Related Churches). The Purpose Church’s first Interest Meeting was held in July 2014 with 40 people in attendance. Vision was cast, and momentum for the dream began to build. Interest Meetings turned into official Launch Team Meetings in October 2014, and by January 2015, 65 people had committed to seeing The Purpose Church become a reality.
On January 11, 2015, The Purpose Church launched its first service (under the original name Living Stone Church) at Tejeda Middle School with 353 people in attendance. That day, 32 people made decisions to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and we’ve been experiencing God’s miracles ever since!
The Lord has grown His church and built a beautiful family of disciples on mission to make a difference in their neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces. TPC is now a well-known and respected church in Schertz/Cibolo with a strong influence in SCUCISD and communities along the I-35 corridor.
