THE BUILDING CHURCH STORY

Building Church is a non-denominational, Spirit-led, life-giving church
located in Huntsville, Alabama. BC (as we call it) was ARC church plant 45.
Our church began in a movie theater here in HSV in 2007 by our founding pastors David and Stephanie Pursiful. The church moved to
the Malco theater shortly after the launch and was portable for ten
years. In 2015, land was purchased and construction began on our
current worship space. In April 2016, we moved from the theater to our
current worship center and have enjoyed having our own permanent
worship space. In February 2017, Pastors David and Stephanie stepped
down as lead pastors. In June 2017, Pastors Spencer and Ellen Beach
moved from Bentonville, Arkansas where they had been serving as
Executive Pastors for the prior seven years, and assumed the role of
Lead Pastors.
2018 and 2019 marked years of incredible growth and deepening of the
leadership team. In March of 2020 along with the rest of the world, we
went online only and stayed that way until Fathers Day in June of 2020.
When we reopened, we had two services with about 200 in attendance.
While this was a far cry from the 750 that we were experiencing in 2019
we were thankful to gather. We have been moving forward ever since
and currently have between 500-600 in average Sunday attendance.
We are looking forward to expanding our reach into other parts of the
region through campus expansion, conferences, and community events
that allow us to influence the region that God has called us to serve.
